Water Treatment Process

Because of its excellent disinfection and oxidation qualities, ozone is widely used for waste water reconditioning and drinking water treatment. Ozone can be added at various inlet points to  the treatment system, Commonly, it is applied for pre-oxidation, before the filter systems. The filters can remove the remaining organic matters (vital for final disinfection).

Main benefits:
-Discarding organic and inorganic matter
- Discarding of micro-pollutants, such as pesticides
- Improved  flocculation/coagulation - decantation process
- Improved  disinfection and reduction of disinfection biocides
- Abolishing odor-color  and taste issues

Ozone dissolved in water can be used for a wide range of applications. Below is just a brief technological summary for the technical implementation of applications.
Mixing O3 gas into water
Bubble diffusers can effectively dissolve and mix ozone in water; however, with a very high column of water, a fine pore diffuser should be used. Water columns shorter than 3 meters typically result in less than 50% mass transfer efficiency. Water columns of 6 meters can achieve 90% mass transfer efficiency
VENTURI INJECTOR
The Venturi injector is a commonly used method for ozone injection in industrial applications. It is also recommended to use a static mixer where mixing vanes blend the gas thoroughly with water.
The very small bubbles created by the venturi injector, which are required for high mass transfer, are a vigorous mixing operation that accomplishes the dissolution of gas into water.
O3 Degassing
When using a venturi injector it is necessary to remove insoluble oxygen and ozone from the water. The contact (buffer) tank is a commonly used method, but gas discharge chambers and columns can also be used. Venturi Injector Selection
The size of the Venturi injector is a function of the water flow through it. Water pressure also plays a role in determining the size of the venturi injector.
When using a venturi injector, a device (s) shall be used to ensure that water does not flow from the venturi injector to the ozone generator.
STATIC MIXER
Static mixers are any static device designed solely to mix two flows. In our application, ozone gas is mixed with water, so the purpose of the static mixer is to keep the bubbles into the smallest possible bubbles.

Water pressure affects the solubility of ozone in water. Either ozone injection method improves in the environment of higher water pressure. a water pressure of 2.2 bar is about twice as soluble as a water pressure of 0.7 bar
The solubility of ozone in water is temperature dependent.
